1970
Iberotel is established as a private hotel company with six hotels on Majorca.
1987
Iberotel expands to Tunisia and Turkey.
1989
TUI wholly takes over the hotel company.
1993
The Spanish hotels are handed over to the Spanish partner Riu, a decision based on Iberotel’s geographical reorientation.
1996
Formation of the company Egyptotel which runs the Iberotel hotels in Egypt, start of rapid growth in Egypt.
2003
Besides one hotel in Turkey, Iberotel already has thirteen hotels in Egypt. This summer more than half of all Iberotel hotels receive a TUI Holly.
2006
Expansion of the hotel portfolio to a total of 23 complexes, three of which are in Turkey.
2007 The Iberotel Sarigerme Park/Turkey gains 1st place as the TUI Environmental Champion for the 10th time in succession. Iberotel Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort opens in Fujairah, U.A.E.
2008
Expansion to Germany with the opening of the Iberotel Boltenhagen on the Baltic Sea coast.
2009
The hotel group opens its first city hotel in Cairo. Moreover the Iberotel Apulia opens in Italy and the Iberotel Fleesensee in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.
